The New Zealand Institute of Agricultural and Horticultural Science (NZIAHS) is hosting a forum on 4 October at Te Papa, focused on the role of agricultural and horticultural science and innovation in the future of New Zealand. Speakers include Jon Hickford, Jim Anderton, Garth Carnaby, William Rolleston, Rod Oram, and Shaun Hendy.
One of the highlights of the day is the political forum from 4:30pm, which will discuss the main political parties' policies around agriculture and horticulture for the next term of parliament. Timed just weeks before the general election, this will be a prime opportunity to find out what the major parties are thinking about ag/hort and science policy in general. The registration fee has been kept low ($50 for the full forum), and a registration form may be downloaded here.
